I know! It’s the day after Christmas and I don’t even want to think about lesson plans or the piles of things waiting for me to do after the break. But I’ve created an easy snowman activity for you to use that first week back to school. It’s my way of wishing you Happy Holidays with a Music Education Winter Freebie!

Here’s the highlights-
Students will be able to create 4 and 8 beat patterns using the flashcards.
The Flashcards are made to represent the beat value.
Check out the Values included: eighth, quarter, half and whole notes.
Wow! Flashcards also come in mini card sizes.
Both Teacher and students can use the key to remember and check note values.
NEW FEATURE!
Task cards are included for teachers to use in small group, individual work and station activities.
Worksheets: There is one blank snowman worksheet and one that asks students to label the snowman parts by matching with the flash cards.
All you need to do is print out enough flash cards so that each student doing the activity has a set. Print 1 key per student or group.
You may want to print the task cards if using in individual, small group or station activities.
Teaching Tip!
Be sure to review the rhythms, demonstrate how to build the rhythm patterns and how to say and play them.
In addition-You can easily have students compose some melodies using their rhythm patterns!
