It’s time to celebrate spring! Right?

Good things are bloomin’ everywhere and it’s time to welcome the flowers and warmer weather with some fun springtime movement activities for your students.

SPRINGTIME MUSIC AND MOVEMENT ACTIVITIES

Springtime is here along with wiggling and giggling children.
Not sure what to do?
Tired?
No space?
These are common challenges most music teacher face every day.

There are a couple of different activities you can use in these scenarios.
One is to begin class with a movement activity  students can do right in their own space.
(I love folk dancing too- but this year we have to adapt everything- right?)
So you may want to check out this new SPRING song “Springtime Dance”.

It’s perfect for your littles and they can do it inside their personal space.
Then you can have them sit down and do a STEADY BEAT activity, or LISTENING ACTIVITY.

Using a movement activity at the beginning of your class will also give you time to transition your equipment and pay attention to students who need one on one help.

Using VIDEOS makes transitions easier because you are handsfree.
Another idea is to choose someone to always be the leader and place them at the front of the class.

Although we are teaching in challenging times, our students deserve our best and to have fun in music class.

I’m hoping these ideas will help you out in your spring music activities.
