Depending on where you live, you may be facing The Last Month of School. With everything turning green and kids getting a little “buggy”, it’s time for a serious action plan. I find that GAMES and ACTIVITIES are really great for this time of year. Direct teaching isn’t going to cut it at all.
MY FAVORITE LAST MONTH OF SCHOOL MUSIC ACTIVITIES
Here are some of my favorite resources for the end of year music class activities.
MAY FLOWER GAME SONG with fun Hand Actions, Rhythmic teaching pages, Lesson plan, Xylophone teaching pages, Mp3 Tracks.
It’s an easy song to learn and can help you to finish up the year in your K-3 classroom.
Or, use the song in a concert and have your students play the MELODY, BASS and OSTINATO parts.
KEEP STUDENTS SINGING
Be sure to warm up little voices with “Buggy Vocal Explorations”
Animated and Video files make using this resource easy.

REWARD AND EMPOWER THAT LAST MONTH OF SCHOOL
Overall, you can fill your last month with memorable, engaging and productive activities that build relationships and foster a positive environment.
I also think students need rewards because it sends such a positive message to the rest of the students and validates their great skills or behavior.
I put my awards into a bundle here to share with you.
This Music Awards Bundle is so easy to use and FLEXIBLE!
You get the product in a PDF and POWER POINT-just open, insert a text box, and you can add in the NAME OF YOUR OWN AWARDS and the STUDENTS NAME. You can even add in other graphics or names as needed. So Flexible!
I included 14 different AWARDS Ideas that you can use.
What’s great about this is that you can use it year after year after year and don’t have to keep purchasing or remembering to get files from somewhere–you’ll have this forever.
I like flexible products because then I can tailor make it to fit the situation….you might have “BEST HAND DRUMMER” the week you introduce your hand drums to your Kindergartners….
Handing out awards also helps you stay positive!
Stay positive during the last month of school.
