BEGINNER UKULELE LESSON TO LEARN C CHORD
This beginner ukulele lesson to learn the C chord using the song “If I Had a Chicken”.
I wrote this silly song “If I Had a Chicken” to help my students learn to play a C chord.
If I had a chicken then I would go-
Over to Hawaii where it doesn’t snow.
Then my chicken could play all day!
And all the people would stop and say.

ti ti ti ti TA
I also use it as another way for them to play rhythms on the ukulele.
There are more verses, but I like my students to make their own up.
If I had a _________________
The rest of the song is the same.
Exchange the word “chicken” for another animal.
Change the rhythms or not- make up silly sounds-play other instruments.
Such a fun activity for 3rd graders.
Hopefully it will work for you!
It’s also on the Sing Play Create Kids Music Channel
