Using songs and games is a fun and effective way to get to know your students. That’s why I put together my favorite and most easy to teach hello songs and name games in this post.

Singing songs and using games is a positive way to help students follow directions, learn procedures and build classroom community.

TEACHING TIPS

It’s important to repeat, repeat, repeat these types of songs to give everyone time to learn the songs and the actions.

Be sure to teach the songs first and then teach how to line up.

Lastly, give TONS and TONS of positive feedback. Come up with some SILENT signals to communicate to your students that they have done the procedure correctly. Encouragement and positive praise goes a long way to build relationships.
