DANCE DIRECTIONS
Learn how to dance to this familiar Irish folk song. Lyrics and a simple accompaniment is included.
ACTIVITY IDEAS
Try having your Kinders and First Graders play a a steady beat using a drum, marching or “pretend” to do an Irish dance.
Students can play d or (d/a) bordun for some added steady beat practice!
If they can read, have them follow the chords and play the D, C AND A bass notes on a beat.
Have half the class sing and the other half play instruments.
Create an ostinato for a shaker to play as one group singing, one plays the bass and another plays the beat.
Ask upper elementary students to play the melody.
