QUICK AND EASY MUSIC CLASS NUTCRACKER ACTIVITIES
Todays post is going to give you some quick and easy music class Nutcracker activities you can use throughout the month of December.
The activities include a Nutcracker scarf and a rhythm activity as well as a movement game.
#1 TREPAK BODY PERCUSSION
I put together some body percussion and rhythm patterns for TREPAK from the NUTCRACKER.
The presentation has the note values and the body percussion actions.
This is a quick and easy music class Nutcracker activity that you can use in more than one class time.
#2 TREPAK SCARF MOVEMENT
The patterns for the scarf activity are also included in the free resource.
I made a bell/scarf prop for my students to use for this activity!
I just tied a scarf on a bell- and my students loved it!

#3 MOVEMENT GAME
You can use this game with any holiday music.
First, pick your favorite holiday characters.
Write them on the board.
Or, if you want to do some prep, choose 4 characters, and print a picture of them.
SANTA – BIG BELLY
RUDOLF- BIG FLOPPY EARS
ELF- FOLD ARMS (As if they have too much work to do)
SNOWMAN-HANDS ON HIPS
Next, create a movement for each character.
SANTA – BIG BELLY -JUMP
RUDOLF- BIG FLOPPY EARS- TIP TOE
ELF- FOLD ARMS KICK OUT
SNOWMAN-HANDS ON HIPS -STEP SIDE TO SIDE
It’s time to practice.
Play the music and practice showing the character action.
Students need to remember what move to do.
I’ll show Santa like this by putting my arms out like a big belly.
But I won’t jump- they need to remember to jump.
Let the music play.
Change the actions after every 10-20 seconds.
Now the students can lead the game.
I’m hoping that these quick and easy music class Nutcracker activities make your December music classes effective and fun!
