“Skidamarink” is just the song you need if you’re looking for your students to perform a sweet Valentine’s Day song. Imagine 5, 6, and 7 year olds singing and signing “I Love You” to their parents.
“SKIDAMARINK” A SWEET VALENTINES DAY SONG
Not only is it easy to learn, but the hand actions and the nonsense words “skidamarink a-dink” make it a delightful song for your younger students to perform.
Check out my version of the song and actions here in this video.

LYRICS FOR “SKIDAMARINK” VALENTINES DAY SONG
Here are the song lyrics:
Skidamarink a-dink a-dink
Skidamarink a-doo
I love you
Skidamarink a-dink a-dink
Skidamarink a-doo
I love you
I love you in the morning,
And in the afternoon,
I love you in the evening,
And underneath the moon.
Skidamarink a-dink a-dink
Skidamarink a-doo
I love you.
I love you!

VALENTINE’S DAY MUSIC LESSONS
My students love to play games, so you may want to look at the game songs for Valentine’s Day.
These resources are packed with materials that include videos, audio files, teaching presentations and printables.
Concepts in the lessons include solfege, pentatonic songs, rhythm parts (Ostinato).
Why not play games and keep students learning at the same time?
Here’s what one customer has said about the Valentine’s Day songs: “I used all of your valentine’s day songs to create a first grade program in a pinch!
The kids loved learning the songs through games and orff instruments and the words sound super sweet coming from 6-7 year olds.”
I’m hoping that “Skidamarink” is just the song you need for your students to perform a sweet Valentine’s Day song.

My grandma was a big inspiration for my becoming a music teacher. She taught Kindergarten and included a lot of music in her classroom. This was one of the songs she sang to her kids and to us grandkids when we were young. Now I’m happy to sing it to my children and maybe now my students. Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome! Thank you for the sweet story!
